Facebook live is very popular now. And ASUS cares about how you would look like during your live streaming. That’s why the beautification feature which is once available only on their camera app is now applicable during live streaming. Stay where you are as we share our ASUS Zenfone Live Review.
Unboxing ASUS Zenfone Live
A cute little box complete with all-white accessories is what the retail box of the Zenfone Live is all about. Here’s what’s inside the box when you open it.
The Zenfone live that we got is the gold/white combination. It has the same physical features with its siblings like the Zenfone 3 Max, only that the Zenfone Live has a smaller display.

Design and build
It has an all-metal unibody design just like any of the Zenfone 3 series. Buttons placement are on one side – volume rocker is a one-piece button and right below is the power button. Up top is one of the noise-cancelling mic and the 3.5mm audio port.
At the bottom are the speaker grille, them microUSB port, and the other noise-cancelling mic.
The capacitive buttons are, as usual not backlighted. This has been the signature of ASUS in all of their Zenfone 3 series.
The Zenfone Live has a decent build considering the low price tag of the device.
Display and UI
The Zenfone Live is equipped with 5-inch HD IPS 1280 x 720 resolution at 294 ppi. There is also the presence of a 2.5D curved glass on top, but that’s all in there, there is no Gorilla Glass.
You’ll see a familiar UI, the ZenUI and a not so thin bezel represented by that black border right there which is obvious because of the white front cover.
With only HD display on the Zenfone Live, images are clear but not as bright, which is justified by the price.
There is no viewing angle issue, therefore, photos and videos are viewed clearly.
Camera: Live Stream Beautifully
This is the main selling point of the ASUS Zenfone Live. There is no dual camera setup on this phone, the rear camera has 13 MP f/2.0 w/ AF and LED flash. The front camera has 5 MP f/2.2 w/ LED flash.
Pre-installed in the Zenfone Live is the BeautyLive app which auto-activates when you start Facebook Live, IG Live or YouTube Live.
Here’s the sample Facebook Live video so that you know how awesome the Zenfone Live is.
The ASUS Zenfone Live is powered by a 1.2 GHz 64 Bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core CPU is paired with Adreno 306. There is also 2GB + 16 GB with microSD support for up to 64G external storage.
The Zenfone Live uses a Hybrid dual SIM. The second slot is the microSD slot and should you decide to use it, you auto-disable SIM number 2.
These stuff under the hood of the Zenfone Live is just enough for basic social media apps.
The 2,650 mAh battery is quite normal in this small size smartphone. But you can’t expect too much as it will drain in less than five hours of continuous usage.
If you are a vlogger or somebody that goes live in performing your job, then Zenfone Live is for you. The BeautyLive app will help beautify your live streaming. It is very easy to use. But streaming will easily drain your battery, you might want to score one of the high-power ZenPower (ASUS Powerbank).
