Samsung has officially launched the 2017 A Series in the Philippines. Two device got priced today in the local arena and one of them we had a face to face encounter, the A7 2017 model. Stay with us as we present to you our Galaxy A7 2017 Hands-on Review.
The Samsung midrange device A7, for example, is parading itself with waterproofing and dustproof features. The demo area in the launch today had the device set up in a small pond just like what is in the photo above.
According to Samsung, the 2017 A series is inspired by their flagship phones and it has the top-of-the-line features. For example, the A7 has a metal frame and 3D glass back that is seamless and looks really premium.
Now, these features won’t sway you away in enjoying the device even if it is raining, or you are taking videos of your friends in a pool, nor the dust in your construction site. This is because the device is IP68 certified.
Galaxy A7 2017 Hands-on
Holding the device is truly like holding the successful S7. You know that you are holding a premium device judging from the glass material they implemented at the back. And having said that, fingerprints will be collected in no time and it is very evident.
The 5.7-inch screen on the A7 has full HD AMOLED display. This display brings you super clear and sharp images on your device which is pleasing to the eyes. It offers your 1920×1080 screen resolution and the Always On feature will add more battery life to it.
If you recall the Galaxy J7 Prime layout is inherited in the A7. The power button on the right side and the loudspeaker is also there. On the left side are two-piece volume control button and on its lower side is the SIM card tray.
Talking about the SIM card tray, you can take advantage 4G/LTE but you are limited to just one SIM in case you need more storage. The 32G internal storage can be expanded up to 256G in the microSD slot hybrid slot.
Down the bottom are the USB Type-C port, a noise-cancelling mic, and the 3.5mm audio jack. Notice that the USB Type-C reversible port is now present Samsung’s midrange device. The home right there is flanked by a backlighted capacitive buttons.
The A7 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7880 octa-core CPU running at 1.9GHz. The combination of 3G + 32G RAM and ROM is becoming a standard now which gives the user more storage and smooth performance of a midrange.
To make it more interesting the cameras of the A7 2017 model has 16MP and boast of its F/1.9 opening. We said cameras, because, yes, both the rear and front is armed with a 16MP sensor.
Battery, colors, availability & pricing
The A7 has a 3,600mAH battery and has quick charging features. The Galaxy A7 2017 has three colors to choose from — black sky, gold sand and blue mist.
It will start to be available in Lazada beginning January 14.
