Lenovo K8 Note announces, the company’s first dual-camera device

The new Lenovo K8 Note, the company’s first dual-camera phone has been launched in India yesterday. It packs a mid-range specs, large battery size and metal body design.

The device has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1080p resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on its 2.5D glass screen and anti-fingerprint coating. Going through the chipset, it features a MediaTek Helio X23 chipset with a 2.3GHz deca-core processor that can handle anything you throw with an ease, a 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of integrated storage space. The storage is further expandable, thanks to the provided microSD slot which can take up to 256GB. Also, a “music key” is a custom built hardware key on the left side that allows a user to launch the music app, and control playback.

At the back, there’s a dual 13-megapixel camera unit (OmniVision OV13855 and PurCel Plus sensor) plus another 5-megapixel lens (Samsung S5K5E2 sensor), which is responsible for blurring the background of a picture scene. It has a dedicated dual-LED CCT flash. Additionally, we get a 13-megapixel shooter on the front that has also LED flash for bright selfie image. At the back, just below the dual cameras is the fingerprint scanner. Other noteworthy feature is the splash and spills-resistant protection with water-repellent nano-coating.

Generally, with such considerable specs, there’s a 4G LTE connectivity that doesn’t come as a shock to us. It also supports dual-SIM, dual-Standby. It’s not hybrid, a good news for some users that are using two sim cards at the same time. The phone is not that slim and measures 8.5 mm in thickness. Given its metal design, the device weighs at a hefty 180 grams.

The K8 Note is backed by a massive 4,000 mAh lithium-polymer battery with 15W quick charging support, a first from Lenovo to ship with this kind of rapid charger. It should be enough to last for an entire day with moderate usage. In favor of renouncing their own Vibe Pure UI, the company is now using the pure Android v7.1.1 “Nougat”.

Overall, the phone’s robust specs including the 10-core CPU, distinctive design and a price tag that starts at just $200 ensures that the new Lenovo K8 Note is one of the best mid-range smartphones in the market today.
