OPPO A71: Hands-on and Initial Impressions

OPPO Philippines invited us to join the local launching of their newest offering under the “A” series, the Oppo A71. The phone does not imply on taking selfies like their other devices, but it’s all about the performance. For a RAM of 3GB, this smartphone is one of the most affordable here in the Philippines.

Here’s the Oppo A71 at first glance.

The design of the phone has a sleek-body with nano-silver technology. At the front, we find the 5.2-inch IPS display with 720p resolution. It enables the user to play games comfortably and seeing real-life images in a crystal-clear format. Below are the usual three capacitive keys which are not lighten up.

Handling the phone is pleasant, enhanced by the good grip and its promise of durability and, premium look and feel. The company employed a fine curved edge for a seamless and smooth transition. It is the latest trend on the smartphone right now, so we are not having a problem with that.

As we go on to the controls, the 3.5 mm earphone jack is sitting at the top, the volume keys are on the left side. Going down are the micro-USB port for charging and transferring files thru PC, and the two speaker grille, and perhaps, the only right is available while the other is for aesthetics only. On the left are the two volume keys, a small mic and the slots for dual-nanoSIM cards and microSD that supports up to 256GB.

Once we got our review unit, we will gather the usual tests, especially the benchmark scores, battery life and other stuffs to know its full performance.
