Cisco, one of the biggest brand names in the IT Industry today, recently announced its newest Distributor in the Philippine Market, Westcon Comstor. Comstor, which was acquired a few years ago by the Westcon group, has been a Cisco partner for quite sometime and has its operations in different countries in the Asean Region.
Last month, during my work as Business Development Manager of 3D Networks Philippines, I get the chance to meet in our office the new Westcon Comstor team. Present in the meeting were Regional Director Mr. Stephen Chong (formerly from Cisco AsiaPac), Philippines Country Manager by Ms. Jessica Powell (formerly from PLDT). Westcon Comstor will be holding office both in Ortigas with one of its allies the Westcon Convergence and will open another office in Legaspi Village, Makati soon. IT resellers will have a new choice of distributor as the Westcon Comstor group will be a full-suite distributor with its certifications to distribute products for routing and switching, wi-fi, firewall and security solutions, but also Unified Communications covering Cisco IP telephony and Video-conferencing solutions.
Westcon Comstor had its official partner launch at the Spicy Fingers restobar last July 12, 2012.
Westcon and Comstor is part of the Westcon Group, which is a distributor of leading UC (unified communications), network infra., data center and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers. They have regional presence in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia and here in the Philippines.
