Western Digital, one of the most prominent name on storage industry, announced last July 16 the release of the latest hard drive in WD’s series of color-coded hard drive solutions: the WD Red™ NAS hard drives. This new and innovative line of SATA hard drives are specifically designed for home and small office Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems with one to five available drive bays.


According to a statement from John Rydning, IT research firm IDC’s research vice president for hard-disk drives, “WD’s new WD Red hard disk drives offer a unique combination of product features and customer support for users seeking to expand the capacity of their entry-level network attached storage solutions.”
WD Red hard drives are available now at select resellers and distributors:

WD Red hard drives are now shipping in 3.5-inch 1 TB, 2 TB and 3 TB capacities.
