BingoPlus Foundation, the social development branch of DigiPlus Interactive, provided ₱37 million in financial relief to households affected by Typhoon Kristine. Following 148 verified casualties statewide, at least ₱250,000 was committed to each grieving family as a sign of compassion and assistance for their recovery journey. The effort began with 39 bereaved families during a turnover ceremony on November 10 at Talisay New Municipal Grounds in Batangas and will continue throughout the country. This pledge will continue to assist affected families, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos, Department of Social Welfare and Development Undersecretary Pinky Romualdez, and DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco were joined by Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas, Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste, Talisay Mayor Nestor Natanauan, Bacolod Mayor Albie, BingoPlus Foundation COO Celeste Jovenir, and local leaders and community members in personally handing over the financial aid. The occasion highlighted the Foundation’s purpose of multiplying good by providing real assistance to Filipinos in their moment of greatest need.
Typhoon Kristine, one of the most deadly storms of the year, wreaked havoc over South Luzon, causing severe flooding and landslides that resulted in major loss of life and property damage. Talisay, which has been badly affected by landslides in Batangas, is one of the Foundation’s priority regions for relief operations, as the entire province has been declared a disaster zone.
“The BingoPlus Foundation exists to provide more than financial aid; it is about creating hope, resilience, and real change,” said DigiPlus Interactive Chairman Eusebio Tanco. “The work of the BingoPlus Foundation is a true reflection of our belief in giving back without holding back, of reaching out to lift up those in need, and of multiplying the good in every way possible.”
The financial assistance builds on the BingoPlus Foundation’s previous efforts to help Typhoon Kristine victims. The Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s National Resource Operations Center (DSWD NROC), donated cavans of rice to at least 750 families and rallied volunteers to help repack and distribute crucial supplies in affected areas.
BingoPlus Foundation provided assistance to 1,000 households affected by Typhoon Kristine in Isabela, Aurora, Pangasinan, and Quezon, in collaboration with the ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya program. These immediate initiatives demonstrate the Foundation’s commitment to its resilience pillar and making a difference when communities need it the most.
“The BingoPlus Foundation supports our communities not only with aid, but also with resilience, solidarity, and hope,” Tanco added. “In moments like this, our determination to make a difference is stronger than ever.”
Since its founding, the Foundation has provided approximately ₱100 million for initiatives nationwide, addressing pressing community needs through healthcare, livelihood programs, and educational grants. The Foundation has developed PLUS Centers in Negros, Cebu, and General Santos through collaborations with local and national organizations, transforming them into resource hubs aimed to empower communities by providing crucial resources such as health services, livelihood support, and skill training. Each center serves as a tangible reminder of the Foundation’s dedication to long-term community development.
