Fresh from the rumor mill, Redmi would be working on its own high-end smartphone with Snapdragon 855 chipset.
Now we have what could be the first image of that device, which would be the new Redmi Pro 2.
The image has been shared on Weibo by the user The Time and looks like an advertising banner. In addition to a good look at the device in front and behind, it includes a text where its features are showing: Snapdragon 855, a pop-up selfie camera, 48MP triple camera lens, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
Three years ago, the Redmi Pro was announced.
Quite different from the original, and not only for the three years that have passed but for its approach. While the Redmi Pro of 2016 mounted a MediaTek Helio X20 and Helio X25 and cost around $250, this Redmi Pro 2 would aim high with Snapdragon 855 chipset.
And it’s not the only premium feature unveiled. The screen with an unknown dimensions goes bezel-less, uninterrupted as the front camera pops-up. On the back, there’s a combination of three camera lenses with the main one has 48 megapixels.
The appearance, if we dismiss the front camera, is very similar to that of the predecessor, although there is a difference: the fingerprint scanner. In this case, it is not located at the back, but it would be integrated into the screen.
While they have been ringing the high-end bells in Redmi since the beginning of February this year, it is the first time we see the name Redmi Pro 2, so take your information with a pinch of salt. As of this moment, we do not know anything else about its possible price or when it will be officially announced.
