PLDT officially launched their upgrade to the world’s first tablet and landline in one called the Dual Core Telpad. The new tablet is now powered by a dual-core processor, runs Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, and adds new entertainment features for Telpad subscribers. With its 1.6 GHZ Cortex A9 dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM, the tablet is now twice faster compared to its older generation, The Telpad S7 Lite. It is Bluetooth-enabled and also comes with a mini HDMI port. The all-new Telpad has an internal storage of 8 GB and can also support up to 32GB of micro SD storage.
Besides the hardware upgrades, the new Telpad comes with added entertainment features. One of its exciting features is the new and exclusive communication app called heyÜ. This app allows subcribers to make free calls via Wi-FI from heyÜ to heyÜ. Telpad subscribers can register up to five numbers they can call from the device. The first number is free, while the succeeding numbers costs P75 each. Not only that, using heyÜ provides subscribers with the lowest PLDT rates when calling abroad and calls made to other mobile phone networks like Smart, Sun, and Talk n’ Text.
The new Telpad also comes with the Smart Music app, which allows subscribers to download music from MCA Music’s global catalog. Some of the hottest artists included in this catalog are Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and Rihanna. Subscribers can download different tracks from millions of songs that are available for as low as P15 per track. However, newer releases costs P20.
The Dual Core Telpad has also something in store for movie lovers. The tablet comes with a preinstalled app called Clickplay. This is the “country’s first online movie-streaming website.” Through this app, subscribers will have access to movie-on-demand from Warner Studio. Depending on the plan, Telpad subscribers can get free movies per month. But movies can also be digitally rented at P50 per download and will be available for viewing for 30 days.
Lastly, subscribers get two free games from EA Games such as Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Mass Effect Infiltrator and Bejeweled 2. Games can be downloaded until July 15 next year.
The Dual Core Telpad unit comes free with Plan 1849 (up to 1.5 mbps), Plan 2099 (up to 3.5 mbps), Plan 3095 (up to 5.5 mpbs), and Plan 4100 (up to 8.5 mbps). These plans already come with FREE myDSL WiFi modem.
With Telpad’s new and improved hardware and OS, subscribers can enjoy various perks and features—from calling friends and family members with the lowest rates available to downloading movies, games, and songs.
The Dual Core Telpad will be officially released to the public on July 31st.
