MVP-led telco PLDT recently made another first in the industry by launching the first-ever residential LTE.
Dubbed at ULTERA, the home LTE by PLDT HOME will hit the market immediately from North to South of the Philippines. From Bulacan down to Sultan Kudarat, PLDT HOME ULTERA will be made available.
Prior the launch on April 29, PLDT has been testing the ULTERA to more than 200 sites nationwide.
The plans will start at an affordable P999 monthly service fee (MSF), which gives the subscriber up to 3Mbps of Internet speed. In this plan, the subscriber has to pay an activation fee of P2,000 which is chargeable to the billing. An advance payment of P999 also is required.
PLDT Home Bro also known as ULTERA has three plans available – Ultera Basic, Ultera Max and Ultera Pro.
Subscribers must select the LTE plan the family needs. If you are a small family, at least four in the house, you can go with Ultera Basic. However, if you are a big family with each member carrying more than two mobile devices, then you can go Ultera Max.
Now, if your home has smart TV, a teener that downloads HD movies, a blogger that streams video, and kids that are Youtube viewers, you may want to get the biggest plan, which is Ultera Pro.
ULTERA Max gives you up to up to 5Mbps of LTE speed. Under this plan, you have to pay the activation fee of P1,500 and advance payment of P1,599. Ultera Max monthly service fee is P1,599.
ULTERA Pro gives you up to 10Mbps of LTE speed. You have to pay the activation fee of P1,000 and MSF is at P1,999.
In order to regulate the use of LTE at home, PLDT has put up a cap for every ULTERA Plan. For the Basic, a subscriber is given 10G monthly, for Max a 15G allowance is give, and for the Pro subscribers they will enjoy 30G every month.
All ULTERA Plans are automatically under contract for 2 years.
