Yes we got the latest from Kata! Kata i3S is coming up very soon and it has a new look! Check out our unboxing and first impressions after the jump.

The same packaging & specs but new look!
You will get the same box, almost the similar contents of the previous Kata smarpthones. You will find the warranty card, manual, USB cable, the wall charger is now smaller, a removable battery, headset, and the i3S in its new design.

I don’t know what went through the mind of Kata when they just installed the same chips under the hood of i3S. Same processor as the i3, same camera, same screen size and display.
So what’s new?
The i3S has a new look. I thought I got the wrong unit when I unbox it, it was like the Xiaomi Mi3 when it is facing you. The side looks like a Sony Xperia. As opposed to the i3 this one has now a replaceable 2,250mAh battery.
Where are the buttons?
On top you will find the 3.5mm audio port and micro-USB charging and data port, on the left side is the volume control and on the right is the power button.

The i3S is a little bit heavier than the i3. Kata i3 weighs 153.2g only while the i3S weighs 168.9g. I felt the increase of weight with an additional grams added to the due to the metal casing.

The Anututu Benchmark
Kata i3S Antutu Benchmark – 18,364.
Same as the previous Kata smarpthones the speakers is located at the bottom left part at the back.

Kata i3S availability and pricing
In HongKong it is now available with a price tag of HKD1,190. In the Philippines it will be available in the middle of November with an estimated SRP of not not more than P7,000.
My initial thoughts
Kata is continously improving the design of its smartphones. They take it slowly when releasing new models. The i3S is a sample of this development, the kept the same chips under the hood but they changed the physical look, they put a removable battery. I am sure the price point will be affordable that will fit for the Filipino consumer.
