HP Inc. clarified that this device isn’t or will not be marketed as is, rather it will be positioned as a productivity device. So it is expected that you will see the HP Elite X3 sold in a bundle. Because HP still believes that Windows OS is still reigning as far as productivity is concerned.

Let us take a look at the HP Elite X3 features.
Windows 10 Mobile with Continuum is what HP is talking about the upcoming phablet with a really large screen of almost 6-inch. Use it as a productivity tool, not just as a smartphone, they said.
That being said, Elite X3 will be sold as a “bundle” to include a Desk Dock. When “docked” and connected to an external monitor with keyboard and mouse, Windows’ Continuum is activated.
HP Elite X3 Lap Dock

HP also made a partner to the Elite X3 called Lap Dock. It is a dumb device that when connected to the phablet becomes Elite’s extender. Sold separately, the Lap Dock has a 12.5-inch LCD display, a keyboard with USB Type-C ports, micro HDMI, headphone jack and 4-cell battery.
