Nikon D7000 & D3100 launched

Nikon for the first time invited the media and bloggers for an event, the launching of their DSLR line: Nikon D7000 and Nikon D3100 plus the Coolpix series and of course the lens series.

The Nikon D7000 is the latest among its DSLR line replacing the 2year old D90. The 16.2megapixel D7000 is a high-spec DX-format camera with a compact body and a number of innovative new features that includes new DX-format CMOS image sensor; EXPEED 2, Nikon’s image processing engine; 2016-pixel RGB matrix metering sensor and Scene Recognition, an extra-ordinary 39-point autofocus (AF) system; and of course the D-Movie function that records a full 1080p High Definition movie. ISO is up to 6400 and can be extended to a Hi-2 setting of up to 25600.
