ASUS Philippines has officially launched the latest family of the Zenfone. On Saturday, June 24, 2017 Zenfone AR, the Tango, and Daydream-enabled smartphone become official in PH with the official retail price of P44,995.
Tango (formerly known as Project Tango) is authored and developed by Google as an augmented reality (AR) platform.
Daydream is also a product of Google. It is a platform for use with Daydream Virtual Reality (VR).
Zenfone AR was first announced by ASUS back in January 2017. This device is the first device to have both Tango and Daydream-enabled features.
Also, this is the world’s first smartphone to have 8GB of RAM.
The Zenfone AR has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Wide Quad HD resolution with Gorilla Glass 4 on top of the display.
It is powered by a little older chipset, the Snapdragon 821 with Quad-Core CPU paired with Adreno 530 GPU.
There is an 8GB + 128GB configuration and if storage is still not enough, you can still add up to 256GB of mciroSD storage.
As for the shooters, the Zenfone AR is equipped with a three-camera-setup for the Tango AR feature. The main camera has 23MP with f/2.0 OIS PDAF, LED flash, Depth Sensing and Motion Tracking cameras, 4K video recording at 30fps. The front-facing camera has 8MP f/2.0 secondary camera with screen flash.
To keep the device going, there is a 3,300mAH battery with fast charging support thru Quick Charge 3.0. You charge the battery using the USB Type-C port.
Android 7.0 Nougat is the one running the show with ZenUI 3.0 on top.
