The guys at Crumpler Philippines sent us this really all-shouting color camera bag called Crumpler Karachi Outpost S. We have spotted this bag already in display in the new flagship store of Crumpler in Shangri-la Mall in Ortigas.
There are actually three colors releases by Crumpler, but the one they sent us is the one with really striking color β orange! I bet when you use this in a photoshoot, you will be immediately spotted by other photographers.
Its got six pockets all in all, but looks like really rugged type back pack camera bag that you need to worry about your gears when you tuck them all into it. The back portion has one pocket for your whatnots β cables, card readers, extra clothes, flashlight maybe. The top has another compartment that can be used for your lunch box perhaps.
Unlike other camera bags, Karachi Outpost S loads your gears at the back, you have to take off your back from your shoulders first put it a secured top and then start unloading your gears.
You can put one camera body with one lens mounted on it (a 24-70mm will do), an external flash, extra lens, other accessories like extra batteries, and memory cards.
Gears are secured by oversized velcro lock making sure it will not move and sit there tightly while you are moving around.
It has a special compartment for your 10-inch tablet, your iPad will perfectly fit on it.
A raincoat will make sure that your gears wonβt be wet during rainy season shoot. It has also a detachable tripod holder.
We will use this in our next shoot and make a brief review in a couple of days.
Karachi Outpost S is now available in all Crumpler Stores with an SRP of P 7,950. Crumpler stores are located at Bonifacio High Street, TriNoma, Robinsons Magnolia and Shangri-la Plaza Mall.
There are high resolution photos in my Flickr account, you can check it here.
Hi John,
This is available already (at least in the Philippines), if you are in PH, you can check the branch in Shangri-La Edsa.
Any chance that update entry is ready? π Really considering this bag. Do you mind taking a photo or two of the pouch on the top/front part. Not a big camera person (yet) so I was hoping I can put more stuff inside (clothes, essentials) and use it as my everyday bag. I only have one spare lens so far, so, I don’t think I’ll be needing all those extra compartments.
Also, most camera backpacks offer flexibility by making the main camera compartment detachable (convertible to a regular backpack). I’m guessing this is not the case here? For such a good-looking bag, I find that there are quite few reviews online…
