Power rates down for the fifth time

 Joe Zaldarriaga
Meralco recently announced that after four consecutive months of reduction, the overall electricity rates this September will go down by PhP 0.57 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for its residential customers. This month’s reduction also marks the seventh time this year that rates have gone down. Meralco Public Information Office Head Joe Zaldarriaga (in photo) expounds that the overall rate decrease was due to a reduction in the generation charge, brought about by improved power supply coming from generation companies.
