Is your Yahoo account named mark092019906432123@yahoo.com? You may have a chance to create a shorter one this coming July 15th. Yahoo announced that this coming mid July, they will deactivate inactive yahoo accounts who haven’t logged in for at least 12 months.

For users to keep their address, they must log in to their Yahoo accounts before the 15th of July.
Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer had been extensively redesigning Yahoo’s email service, home page and Flickr photo service since her arrival to Yahoo last year. Yahoo had also been recently hot on the news since their buying of Tumblr for $1.1 billion just last month. Their press announced their plans to directly and more conveniently link their new mail users on Tumblr, which appeared to be very popular among teens and young adults. Yahoo aims that next month, newly registered mail handles will coerce the users on accessing their service more frequently and will eventually bring them more opportunities for more innovations.
However, Internet Security experts are worried about giving away inactive email addresses. They say that people who will claim certain Yahoo IDs can use those IDs to take over people’s identities via password resets from other services linked to the email. The released IDs could potentially fall into the wrong hands.
To ensure that you keep your mail, make sure that you login into your Yahoo account before July 15. As this issue progresses, more controversies may arise but who knows? Yahoo might just be able to pull through this.
