Your next investment: Camera bag

So you just spent your hard earned money for your dSLR camera, and you have netbook too, an external flash, a 500G external hard drive and a couple of other stuff.  Image lifted from odsoptics.com Now, the next “must buy” is your camera bag. There are several brands in the market like Vanguard, Tamrac, Lowepro and others. In my case my first camera bag was a slingshot bag, the Vanguard Pampas 47, it cost around P2,500. I liked it because you can easily get your camera when you unstrap the second strap and start shooting. But it stayed with me for only two (2) months, I sold it to my officemate. Its not because I realized that I dont like it but, I want more. I want to carry both my netbook and my camera and few more stuff.

Image from tamrac.comMy next bag was Tamrac Adventure Messenger 5 (Model 5535)  Its a pre-owned bag from a professional photorapher from PhiPo, I contacted him and sealed the deal immediately.
Weeks later, I find it uncomfortable, the weight of the bag is consentrated only on one shoulder.  I sold it again.

And them came the Lowepro Fastpack 250. Its a backapack,  cost around P4,800+, almost double the price of the Vanguard slingshot bag. But I liked it better, its comfortable to bring and the pads are way better than the other brands that are available in the market.  Most of all, it carry all of my stuff there. 🙂 There is a higher model the Fastpack 350, but for my needs its kinda bigger already, and its a littlebit pricey for me.
