We got hold of the Dell Lattitude 10 with Windows 8 tablet recently. The tablet is powered by an Atom processor, a full Windows 8 version which we later upgraded to version 8.1 (it comes free if you have Windows 8). Included in the package is a stylus pen.
Unboxing and First Impressions.
Dell packaging for the Lattitude 10 looks like the packaging of their desktop and laptop series, you don’t see lots of marketing labels in the box. Plain box with all the necessary accessories inside.
Inside that bulky box are accessories that you need everyday to power up your Lattitude 10. You need to carry them as your regular laptop AC plug, the only feature I did not like is the non-standard charger of the tablet. It would have been better if a micro-USB 3.0 port installed there.
Performance
You do not expect this tablet to replace everything that you are doing in your desktop or laptop. Basic productivity tools like sending e-mails, social media updates on Twitter and Facebook, Skype can be performed perfectly by this tablet. You can probably load your Powerpoint presentations here and just project via the HDMI port of the tablet.
Dock it!
Once you get back to your office workstation, put it back to the dock and expand everything that you have in the tablet. Additional HDMI port, USB ports for external accessories like keyboard and mouse. Also you can connect the tablet to your office network via the classic LAN port of the dock.

The dock is a separate SKU that you need to purchase.

Conclusion
With lots of options choose among the consumer series tablets, you will think twice first before your buy tablets for your office staff or at least for the management level team of your company. But if you like to take advantage of the customer service of Dell, this is the way to go. Dell Lattitude 10 will make a perfect portable Windows device that you can bring on presentations and business meetings. You don’t have to be disconnected to your company network and still send and receive corporate emails and confidential files from your office network.
