Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro Review

Have you ever thought of having a real multimedia device that can transform in any way you want depending on what you are doing? A device you can use to watch movies, Youtube clips, and a corporate presentation. A device that turns into a blogging machine that can be used as a projector for a small group?

Lenovo has made one for your convenience, the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. A tablet that has 13.3-inch, WQHD Display with Wide-View technology. A tablet that has a JBL front-facing, large-chamber speakers with subwoofer. And finally, an Intel inside technology to boost a performance which will let you watch movies for 15 long hours.

Build and quality

The tablet has a solid build, much like of that casing found in the Macbooks. Ports and buttons are conveniently distributed. Speakers are pefectly located in front to make a big impact in listening to audio or watching movies. The best solid and genius design is the kickstand, which turns the tablet into different modes.

On the left side (when the tablet is on stand mode), you will find the power button, the micro-USB port, and the 3.5mm audio output. While on the right side is the button for the projector and the projector itself is fixed on that end.

The back portion which is covered by the kickstand are the SIM card and micro-SD slot, it is where the camera is also mounted.

The kickstand is as sturdy as the tablet. It holds the weight of the tablet well and its tight that you know the tablet won’t fall back anytime because the design is balanced.

Display, UI and Apps

This is where you will love the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, it has a crisp and bright display. The QHD (2560 x 1440 screen resolution) display is well appreciated specially when watching HD movies.

The UI and Apps are pretty much similar to the Lenovo smartphones, it has the Lenovo-developed apps like SynciT, ShareIT, and CloneIT. The tablet comes with a UserGuide app which will help you familiarise in using it. It also comes with other apps that seems to be not useful but they are there as marketing tools for Lenovo.

On Movies and Youtube playbacks

Here is the best part of the tablet, Lenovo Yoga Tablet Pro 2 comes with a 32G internal storage, Android Kitkat occupies only about 6.5G and with all the system files and apps installed, there is still 21G left for your movies, photos, and other files like corporate presentations.

Battery life

The super large battery with 9600 mAh will let you watch movies all-day. On one holiday, I just watch several movies on Globe Hooq. I never had any problem on battery. The only fall back is the charging part, because it has large battery, it also take a while to fully charge the battery. I suggest you charge the tablet before you sleep at night and just leave it until the morning.

Adaptable Multi-mode

On reading mode, you can turn the tablet in different positions, it can be a stand position or tilt position. I enjoy the tilt position when I am seated in a table and reading blogs or news. The stand position is best enjoyed on watching movies.

The stand position is also best for corporate presentations. You can also turn it into a handheld postion, this is best when you are reading blogs, or news.

Overall performance

The best entertainment device I ever reviewed. The wide and crisps display is just pleasing to the eyes. The 2.1 JBL speakers delivers solid sound. The built-in projector is something that you don’t rely on. It is there only if you want to impress your friends, otherwise just use the wide display to present your stuff.
