Meizu is known for their affordable smartphones, including the mid-range category in a very low-cost. Not too long, the Chinese phone manufacturer offers solid high-end phones with the “Pro” on the model name and can also compete in other smartphones right now.
Yesterday, we joined the Meizu’s first event here in the Philippines as they expanded their latest flagship device, the Meizu Pro 7.

The phone has a 5.2-inch Full HD display with Super AMOLED screen sitting on it. On the hand, it feels solid and well-built. Behind the screen, there is a Helio P25 processor built on a 16nm FinFET process, and Cortex-A53 architecture. This is a departure from the Helio X25 inside the Pro 6. It has 64GB of non-expandable storage.

Meizu Pro 7 runs the Flyme 6 OS, based on Android 7.0 “Nougat” and according to the company, the implementation of the new operating system has a One Mind artificial intelligence engine that adjusts the system performance based on user’s preference and can identify users’ most useful apps and designate extra resources to make the apps run smoothly and not sluggish.

There are two (2) 12 megapixel lens at the back with f/2.0 large aperture, SonyIMX 386 sensor, and dual-LED flash and a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture on the front facing camera.

And now, the highlight of the phone, the second rear display below the dual cameras. Meizu called it “Fenetre”, which means “window”. The 2.0-inch AMOLED screen allows the user to see notifications and can be open by double tap or flip the phone backward. Moreover, it also shows the battery percentage, even when the phone is charging, date and time, pedometer, wallpapers, and weather information.
By swiping down the screen will proceed to the main camera. We can take selfies there so it is a good phone also for those who are selfie-obsessed. It can switch into three modes: Original or the normal mode, the beautification mode and the blur effect, a.k.a. “bokeh” feature.
