Julia Barretto, one of OPPO‘s celebrity ambassadors, reveals (via Instagram) an unknown smartphone that we haven’t noticed in the past few months. According to our friends from NoypiGeeks, this unnamed device could be the OPPO F5 (or possibly, the OPPO F5 Plus) as the physical aspect is different from its predecessor, the OPPO F3.

As we saw the video, the fingerprint sensor in a circular shape, is now located at the back, along with a single camera, probably a 16-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization. Guessing on the optics department, the front camera might feature a dual-12-megapixel lens with screen flash. Meanwhile, it is expected that the upcoming handset will be around 6-inch AMOLED panel with full metal body design and a recently popular 18:9 aspect ratio. The 20-year old Kapamilya teen actress already disclosed that the announcement will be in October 2017.
Maybe, a lot of people will ask why they skipped the number “4” on its naming scheme? OPPO is a Chinese phone maker and in China, the Chinese word for “four” is very identical to the word “death”, that’s why it is considered as a bad lucky number.
Furthermore, other celebrities including Joshua Garcia and Gretchen Ho, a professional Filipino volleyball player, also received the box from the company, where the phone is included.

On the other hand, OPPO seems to be very practical in releasing smartphones, as they first announced the “Plus” version, and then, the non-Plus model to a more budget-friendly variant.
