Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy Named Esquire PH Businessman of the Year

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy has been named Businessman of the Year at Esquire Philippines’ Man at His Best Awards 2025, a recognition that highlights his role in shaping the country’s digital future.

During the awarding ceremony on November 18, Uy reflected on his journey not just as an entrepreneur but as someone driven by a passion for technology and nation-building.

“I don’t really see myself as a businessman. I’ve always been someone passionate about technology and how it can improve lives,” Uy shared. “We will keep using technology for good and ensure that no Filipino is left behind in this digital age.”

Uy also encouraged fellow entrepreneurs to work together in building a “connected and digitally empowered country.”

Honoring Visionaries: Esquire Philippines’ Architects of Tomorrow

Esquire’s Man at His Best—a globally renowned platform celebrating outstanding individuals—focused this year’s awards on future-shapers known as the Architects of Tomorrow. Uy joined a roster of influential Filipinos across various industries:

  • Lav Diaz – Creative of the Year
  • Sen. Bam Aquino – Maverick of the Year
  • Jericho Rosales – Actor of the Year
  • Butch Dalisay – Icon of the Year
  • Glenda Gloria – Journalist of the Year
  • IV of Spades – Music Artist of the Year
  • Jorge Mendez – Chef of the Year

Driving the Philippines’ Fiber Revolution

Under Uy’s leadership, Converge has become one of the country’s most prominent and fastest-growing fixed broadband providers, building a massive nationwide fiber network that now spans over 888,000 kilometers and serves nearly 2.93 million residential subscribers.

Uy has long championed the belief that internet access is a right, not a privilege — a principle that continues to guide Converge’s aggressive expansion and digital inclusion initiatives.

His leadership has previously earned him major awards, including:

  • Country Mover Award (2024) from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • EY Entrepreneur of the Year Philippines (2022) and representation at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (2023)

In 2025, Uy chaired the 51st Philippine Business Conference and Expo, bringing in global tech leaders such as Foxconn and Naver, both Converge collaborators.

Championing Affordable Connectivity

Uy emphasized the company’s mission to make connectivity accessible and affordable for every Filipino.

“We’re trying to bring down internet costs and continue to disrupt the industry. We were the first to offer prepaid fiber starting at ₱700 — but that’s still expensive. We need to find ways to connect every Filipino because connectivity is a basic requirement for digital transformation.”

From Broadband Provider to Full Tech Company

This year marks Converge’s transition into a full-fledged technology company, aiming to deliver more innovative digital solutions for consumers and enterprises. Uy reiterated his commitment to ensuring fast, reliable, and affordable internet nationwide while unlocking new technologies that can transform industries across the Philippines.

“I share this award with those who stand with me every day — my employees, partners, and customers. They are the backbone of my success,” Uy said.
