Symantec: PH ranked 39th among 251 countries globally for Malicious Activity

Symantec Philippines during its Press Briefing titled: “Symantec Internet Security Threat Report (ISTR) Volume 17” just announced an improvement in the countries standings in terms of Internet Threat Activities last May 30, 2012 at the Mandaluyong Function Room of Shangri-La Makati.

 

The press briefing which usually held annually by security suite giant Symantec Corp. was attended by its Strategic Sales Director for Asia Pacific and Japan Kenedi Celik and Senior Manager, Systems Engineer Ronnie Ng. The two briefly explained and break down the main reason why Philippines improved and the steps to be taken to further reduce security attacks as it affects the economy to grow. They have also reported that during the year 2011 alone Symantec blocked more than 5.5 billion in malicious attacks.

Kenedi Celik explained the movements of top 5 which is U.S. , China, India, Brazil, and Germany respectively, and the reason why India jumped from 6 to 3 in rank while others didn’t even move a bit on the standings.
