Huawei is serious about the Honor branding. They already rolled out few smartphones labeled only with Honor as the brand name. Accordingly, the branding is aimed to serve certain market. Honor 3C Lite is one of those models which you can consider if budget is your concern.
Design and Construction
An impressive build can be observed with the Honor 3C Lite. The shiny plastic casing with the brand Honor at the back pretty much represent an affordable smartphone yet the simplicity of the design makes it appealing to the eyes.
On the right side of the phone you will find both the volume rocker and the power button. On top is the 3.5mm audio port and at the bottom is the micro-USB port for data transfer and charging.
The simple design is what you will get with the Honor 3C Lite. The rear camera is located at the upper center with the LED light on its side. You will also spot the noise canceling mic on top of the camera. The speaker grill is located on the lower left.
Honor 3C Lite has a removable 2,000mAH battery, a dual-SIM with micro-SD slot for additional storage. It is a non-LTE smartphone however, 3C Lite has 16G internal storage which can be expanded up to 32G.
The Honor 3C Lite has three capacitive buttons without LED below the screen which makes it hard to use in the evening of in dark areas like movie houses.
Display
Images on the Honor 3C Lite are crisp and clear, and moving around the screen is swift. Display is HD with 1280 × 720 screen resolution and it has 294 ppi. Dont expect more than that for the price point of this model. 🙂
There is only one complain about the Honor 3C Lite, the capacitive button don’t have LED, therefore you have to do guessing game at night. The back button is on the left side and the menu button is on the right.
OS and Apps
Honor 3C Lite comes out of the box with Android Kitkat with Huawei’s UI called Emotion UI. Emotion UI isn’t really noticed because it only altered very few settings — the icons has a look that will attract the teens. The app drawer is also gone, you have to arrange the apps you want into your own taste.
Benchmarks
We got 18,377 with Antutu and Nenamark gave is 50.8fps. I have installed few games and it keep up during our test. Our regular apps were also installed — from Facebok, Twitter, IG, Spotify, Keep, Gcash, GMovies, OLX, Pixlr, and TempleRun.
All of those performed well without any problem.
Camera
While the 8MP shooter is quick to focus and snap a photo. I guess it has passed the basic shooting needs, but you can’t ask for more. Here are sample images we took with different lighting conditon. You decide.
With only 2,000mAH it is advised that you bring with you a Powerbank because the Honor 3C Lite will die within four hours when data is turned on. If you are more active, the juice of the 2,000mAH can be shorter. With a total weight of 154 grams only, the 3C Lite can be a contender to the Redmi 1S and the recently launched Redmi 2. For some reason, the Lite version, as it is has stripped down features and specs. Camera is not so good, battery lacks the juice you need. The back casing is finger-print magnet. But you can change your mind if I tell you that the Honor 3C Lite is only retailing at P5,290. You can order yours form Lazada now. Conclusion
