Smart invited us yesterday to their store in Powerplant Mall to experience their “Generation 3” store. Smart Stores according to Charles Lim, have been transforming from traditional telco hubs into a venue where people can discover and get a feel of what is described as today’s digital lifestyle. As of this posting, Smart has transformed 18 stores already since November 2013.
“In our new mission statement, Smart promises to enable Filipinos to create awesome moments in life through mobile and digital innovations. We will bring these lifestyle nooks to different Smart Stores all over the country so Filipinos can see and experience what we mean when we say that Smart enables them to live more. The Smart Store is where they will get a taste of the Smart Life,” said Charles Lim, Executive Vice President and head of the Wireless Consumer Business of Smart and Sun Cellular.
As opposed to Globe Gen3X stores which were designed by Tim Kobe, Apple Store NY designer, Smart Store are taken cared of by an all-Filipino designers which were not named during the press conference.
A total 115 Smart Stores will be transformed, among the 18, the Powerplant branch is already up and running. Forty-five more is coming up in 2015 according to Maloo Agoncillo, VP & Dept Head, Retail Support.
The “new” digital store features Music Hub, Reading Nook, Games Station, and a Digital Mall by Zalora. Customer can experience the products sold by Smart. They get to test it first even before deciding to subscribe or buy.
The New Generation Smart Stores also feature customer service innovations like the Digital Profiler – a touch-screen that enables visitors to learn more about the features of devices and plans so they could better decide which offers suit their needs – and the iQueue, an automated queuing system. iQueue allows customers to roam around the mall and attend to other needs while waiting for their turn to be served at the Smart Store. The system sends a text message to inform them once their turn comes.
“All these transformation efforts will lead up to the launch of our flagship store at SM Megamall early next year. The innovation process never ends at Smart. We continue to enhance and revolutionize products, services, and the overall customer experience so more Filipinos can live the Smart Life,” Agoncillo said
