Telstra International strengthens global managed cyber security services with new Security Service Centre in Manila

Telstra International, the international branch of Australia’s largest telecommunications and technology company Telstra, opened its new Telstra Security Service Centre (TSSC) in Manila, Philippines, today.

This new center aims to improve Telstra’s managed cyber security services for its customers worldwide and expand its capabilities in this area.

“Customers are demanding real-time and effective cyber protection to get ahead of an increasingly complex cyber security environment. As the trusted technology partner to corporates outside of Australia, Telstra International is committed to offering robust security protection to our customers. Every part of this centre has been designed to let us deliver advanced cyber security services to our customers,” said Alan Coburn, Cyber Security Technology Lead, Telstra International.

The managed security services offered by Telstra International combine cyber security expertise, threat intelligence, and a set of services to help customers manage risk and stay ahead of possible threats. Telstra Purple, a division of Telstra that offers consulting and professional services, helps customers by assessing threats, giving advice, ensuring they follow the rules, and assuring them.

The TSSC in Manila is meant to meet the growing needs of customers in the area for cyber security. IDC, an analyst firm, says that by 2026, the world will have spent nearly $300 billion on cybersecurity hardware, software, and services. This is because of the constant threat of cyber attacks, the need to provide a secure hybrid work environment, and the need to meet data privacy and governance requirements.

With its strategic location in Asia, the new TSSC will work with its global counterpart in the UK to improve and expand how it delivers its managed cyber security services. This will be done using a “follow the sun” coverage model that works 24/7/365. This will help Telstra International customers improve their security by preventing, finding, analyzing, responding to, and fixing cyber security incidents.
