It was like Globe was telling me — this is the real speed. Last Saturday, August 30, the Bonifacio Global City was turned into a race track where Lotus F1 Junior driver Marlon Stockinger did an exhibition.
Stockinger top speed at the SlipStream was 220kph
There were lots of fast cars in the lane, big bikes, go cart, but the main attraction was the man – Marlon Stockinger with his Lotus WSR 3.5 Race Car. He did his donuts exhibition three times.
It was full of fun, adrenaline rush, good time to shoot for photographers, and lots of “selfie” photos with the superstar at the background.
In the press conference held after the exhibition, Stockinger told Digitalspidey.com that BGC was a good track and he was able reach the top speed of 220kph.
Is this a preview of Globe’s LTE-A?
We asked Peter Bithos if there will be SlipStream 2.0, his said “we never know”, but he said there will be surprise announcement from Globe anytime soon. In August, the rival network already announced the controversial switching on of “5G“. I guess what they meant was the LTE-Advanced, the next level to what the country have, the the LTE (long term evolution) – the Internet service that provides up to 42Mbps. The LTE-A on the other hand will give you up to 200Mbps.
Are we seeing LTE-Advanced from Globe after the SlipStream? We don’t know. But I guess that was the signal.
