Studio Lighting 101

We had a studio shoot for a national magazine the other day. It was our first time to shoot in a studio, so it took as a little while to balance the lighting.

It was hard. But after few minutes of doing it trial and error method, we finally got the hang of it. But our photos came dark still when I downloaded it in my laptop. Which made me decide to take a photography lighting workshop by Ken Go.

Today I did a studio photo shoot again, my images have improve a little bit but I guess I really have to attend a formal class about this. It is worth the investment I’m sure.

Here’s a YouTube video clip by smickphoto that discuss about Studio Lighting for Portrait Photography.

We missed Batch 59 of Ken Go’s lighting workshop, the class of 10 is already full. I e-mailed Ken, that in case one backs out, I’d like to fill the gap. Crossing my fingers.

Will post sample photos of our shoot as soon as I get permission to publish it. We were commissioned by XFactor Productions.
