DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the company behind BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, put the spotlight on responsible gaming as it joined key industry leaders at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia Philippines. The event was held on December 11 at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City and gathered operators, regulators, and experts to discuss how the gaming industry can grow responsibly in an increasingly digital-first environment.
As one of the country’s pioneers in digital entertainment, DigiPlus emphasized that responsible gaming is no longer just a regulatory requirement—it is a core part of platform design, data strategy, and day-to-day operations.
Building responsible gaming into digital platforms
Representing DigiPlus on the panel titled “Innovations in Responsible Gaming and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)” was Erick Su, Head of ArenaPlus, the company’s flagship sportsbook platform. The discussion explored how gaming operators and regulators can strike the right balance between accessibility, innovation, and player protection.
Su highlighted that digital platforms operate in an always-on environment, which changes the nature of player risk. Because access is constant, safeguards can no longer be reactive. Instead, they must be embedded directly into the platform experience, supported by structured processes and technology-enabled monitoring.
According to DigiPlus, this shift places greater responsibility on digital operators to anticipate potential issues early and design systems that promote healthy, sustainable play from the outset.
A proactive, player-first responsible gaming framework
During the panel, DigiPlus outlined its evolving four-step responsible gaming framework, which focuses on education, prevention, intervention, and treatment support. The company shared that new innovations under this framework are set for broader rollout across its platforms starting in 2026.
The first step—education—begins as early as user onboarding. DigiPlus provides clear information about responsible gaming tools and policies, alongside Know-Your-Customer (KYC) processes designed to prevent access by minors and restricted individuals.
Prevention is driven by data analytics. Using aggregated and consent-based customer data, DigiPlus reviews general play patterns to identify early indicators of risk. These insights allow the platform to recommend preventive actions that help players maintain control over their gaming behavior.
Technology-enabled intervention and support
When potential risks are identified, players are encouraged to activate built-in responsible gaming tools. These include bet and deposit limits, session duration controls, and other self-management features available within DigiPlus platforms.
To ensure accessibility, DigiPlus maintains 24/7 customer support to guide users through setting up and adjusting these controls. For players who need additional assistance, the company provides guidance on self-exclusion and, where authorized, helps facilitate the process through the appropriate regulatory channels.
These efforts are reinforced by DigiPlus’ broader CSR initiatives and partnerships with external organizations that offer professional support and guidance.
“Regulatory requirements are the minimum,” Su noted during the discussion. “To promote sustainable gaming, operators need to be proactive in using technology to deliver responsible gaming measures for players at an early stage.”
Collaboration across the gaming ecosystem
The panel was moderated by Ryan Hong-Wai Ho, Lecturer and Programme Coordinator (MBA) at the Centre for Gaming and Tourism Studies, Macao Polytechnic University. Fellow panelists included Ma. Vina Claudette Oca of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Nerie Aquino, Director for Gaming Compliance at a Philippine integrated resort operator.
Together, the panelists shared insights on regulatory developments, industry best practices, and the importance of collaboration between operators, regulators, and support organizations to strengthen player protection.
DigiPlus’ participation at G2E Asia Philippines 2025 underscores its continued engagement with industry stakeholders as it advances a player-first approach to responsible gaming as a foundation for long-term, sustainable growth. The company, together with its flagship brands BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, also served as the joint Exclusive Conference Track Sponsor of the event.
