In one of our Featured entry, we wrote about Facebook stats and undeniably it now the hottest Social Networking site. Your new-found friends are added immediately after the first meet-up, your family members, your high-school friends, college friends, co-workers, business-related friends, even your boss and your parents might be in Facebook too!
Now, each time you go online, you are automatically visible to all your Facebook friends. Therefore, anybody can say hi and hello to you instantly in your chat box. And if you want to hide from a few if not to a selected group only – this might be your parents who has wireless access from their room, or your boss (Ohh yeah, its office time and you’re online boy, and your boss too!) So you just want to hide from them. Or simply, you don’t just wanna be bothered by somebody else.
Here are some quick fix that might help you.
- Create a Friends List, name them by category (ex. Family Friends, HS Friends, etc)
- Add, add, add! Start adding your friends to each list. Your HS friend can be listed to another category like, she or he can under Family Friends too.
- In the Chat menu later, there is a button that you can click whether you want them to see you on-line or offline!
Here are the procedures:
(1. ) Click the Chat button at the lower left side of your Facebook screen.
(2.) Click Friends List and, (3.) start creating your Lists by Category
(4.) Now add your friends in different categories you like. Ex. HS Friends, Bosses, Business etc.
There are different ways on how to add, you can drag the names of your friends in that box or click edit, you will be brought to a page where you can search and add your friends.
(5.) Finally, choose which group you want to appear online or offline!
You’re now hidden from your boss! LOL! But of course, he will sense if you’re online if you make status updates or add comments to your friend’s stats or photos! But at least, you can chat! Hehe!
