Another ASUS smartphone is set for an imminent release, as the new Asus ZenFone Max Plus M1 pops-up in the company’s Chinese website. Based on the specifications, it has much the same as the China-exclusive Asus Pegasus 4S. It could also be the first 18:9 smartphone from the Taiwanese phone maker to be released internationally.
According to the listing, the Asus ZenFone Max Plus M1 is expected to have a 5.7-inch HD+ display, with 1440 x 720 resolution, metal body, and 2.5D arc curved glass screen. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6750T with a maximum clock speed of 1.5Ghz and is paired with Mali-T860 GPU. There will be two storage to choose: either 32GB or 64GB supported by 4GB RAM.
As far as the camera goes, the smartphone has two lenses at the back, consisting of the primary 16-megapixel lens with a f/2.0 aperture and the secondary 8-megapixel sensor with 6P lens and 120° wide-angle. Selfie camera features an 8-megapixel sensor.
The battery of the phone packs a large 4,130 mAh battery and runs in Android 7.0 “Nougat” with ZenUI on top. Other features include a fingerprint sensor at the back, dual-SIM (nano), and a dedicated microSD card slot. Connectivity also covers the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with Beidou and A-GPS. Pricing hasn’t confirmed yet.
