White powdery sand.  Post card perfect sunset.   Swaying coconut trees.  Crystal-clear water.  Famous night beach parties.  Endless  island activities. What could be a more perfect beach destination than that?   Boracay Island is  the  #6 Traveler’s Choice – 2012 for Best Beach Destination in the World and #1 Best Beach Destination in Asia!

Boracay Island is a small tropical paradise island in Aklan province, Philippines measuring only at 4.5 miles long.

Check some famous beaches of Boracay:

1) White Beach – is Boracay’s most famous beach, 3 km of  powdery white sand, it is a home to so many accommodations from backpacker to high-end hotels and so many activities too, they have malls and small shops along the beach front, so many selection for restaurants and island activities. And don’t forget that night beach parties Boracay is so famous for!

2) Puka Beach Puka Beach is located on the northern tip of Boracay Island, province of Aklan.  Well, this is the source of the well famous Puka shells of Boracay. Most of the time this beach is included as one of the island hopping destination from White Beach. There are no resorts in this beach, it is more quieter and laid back than White Beach. If you want private moments you should try this beach. It is only accessible via boat ride from anywhere in the island or a tricycle ride from the main road.

3) Diniwid Beach 200- meter long shoreline just a walking distance from White Beach. If you get tired of  the crowded and noisy White Beach , take a walk and enjoy privacy here.

4)  Tambisaan Beach – is located between Barangay Manoc Manoc and Bantud. You can get here by taking a boat.  Most of the time this is one of the stop of their island hopping from White Beach.  There are locals staying in this beach so if you want to interact with their locals, you should try this place.

And that’s only 4!  Boracay offers 10 beaches and you can explore all of them in one trip. Will be posting more of activities in Boracay in my next post.

How to  go to Boracay Island:

Take a flight to either Caticlan or Kalibo airport (your options:  Seair, Zestair, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, AirPhil and AirAsia).  Land travel from Kalibo to Caticlan is at least an hour but the flight rates are of course cheaper.  Either way you can have a land  arrangement with your hotel or you can take public transport available direct to Caticlan’s jetty port.  At Boracay’s Cagban Jetty port, there are a lot of tricycles available that can send you to your hotel.  And the next thing you just have to do is relax and enjoy!
