So we were able to secure one of the two Windows phone launched last year by Cherry Mobile, the Cherry Mobile (CM) Alpha Prime 5.
The CM Alpha Prime 5 as the name suggests, has 5-inch HD IPS display having 1280 x 720 resolution.
According to reports, the CM Alpha Prime 5 was also introduced in Germany when the CM team went there for the CeBit 2016.
There were two versions of the Alpha Prime, the 4-inch has a lower specs while this one that we got has far better specs compared to the first one.
This version comes in a white and blue combination box which has a nice layout and presentation. Inside the box is the 5-inch smartphone and the usual accessories that ships with it — earphones, micro-USB cable, wall charger, and the user manual.
The Alpha Prime 5 with Windows 10 has its power button on the right side, including the volume rocker on top.
The capacitive buttons with the Windows logo at the center are located below the screen. On the left is the back button and on the right is the search button.
Up top are two ports – the micro-USB and the 3.5mm audio port.
At the back is the 8MP camera and the LED flash and on the lower left portion is the speaker grill.
There are two micro-SIM slots and a separate micro-SD slot for additional storage.
And finally, a removable battery with 2,100mAH.
Windows 10 out of the box
The Alpha Prime 5 is not the first smartphone with Windows, in September 2014, they sealed a partnership with Microsoft to roll out initial devices that run Windows.

Booting the CM Alpha Prime 5 for the first time is quite a similar experience in booting up your Windows laptop. It takes time to finally display the home screen unlike when you do initial boot up with an Android. But when you finally get to the home screen the experience becomes different.
