Local brand Cherry Mobile has the second generation of the Android One series which was introduced a year ago. The first batch of Android One devices was targeted towards the mass market, but Cherry Mobile One G1 is aimed towards a different market segment.
Cherry Mobile G1 was launched on August 10 and will be available in the stores by the end of the month. One G1’s main attraction is the addition of LTE feature which was not available in the first Android One series.
CM One G1 comes with stock Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. That means you get all the stock apps that comes with the OS.
A bigger, faster, better Android One device
G1 has a 5-inch HD display and the screen is protected by a Dragontrail scratch resistant glass. It has 1280 x 720 resolution.
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, running at 1.2GHz, has 2G of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which is expandable through a micro-SD slot (G1 comes free with 8G micro-SD card). Dual micro-SIM with LTE.
The cameras have 13MP at the back and 5MP for selfie shots. It has a 2,500mAh replaceable battery in place.
CM One G1 comes in a decent packaging with the usual box the comes with the G1 and the whatnots. Nothing new in the contents here, you know what I mean.
Let’s proceed to take a look how the G1 looks like when you hold it in your hands.
Oh, wait here’s how it looks like when you pop the back cover. It will reveal the removable 2,500mAH battery, the dual micro-SIM slots and the micro-SD slots are located side by side.
The right side has the power buttons including the volume rocker on the upper part, while the rear camera and the flash are mounted at the upper center.
The back cover is plastic with a rubbery-ish finish which makes it pleasant to hold. It won’t slip off you hand easily.
The bottom part reveals the micro-USB port and the speakers which means that you will have no problem with the audio even if you put the phone facing up or face down.
