Coins.ph, the Philippines’ leading crypto exchange and digital wallet platform, has partnered with global remittance service provider BCRemit to revolutionize the way Filipinos abroad send money home.
Starting November 1, 2025, overseas Filipinos in the UK, European Union, US, and Canada can now send funds to the Philippines instantly—at a fraction of traditional remittance costs—through a new stablecoin-powered remittance corridor built by Coins.ph and BCRemit.
Sending Money Home—Now Faster and Up to 80% Cheaper
For decades, OFWs have relied on traditional remittance services that charge fees of 5% to 10%—plus hidden foreign-exchange markups. Transfers could also take 3 to 5 days before funds reached their families.
This partnership changes that. By leveraging blockchain and stablecoin technology, Coins.ph and BCRemit enable senders to move funds in minutes, saving up to 80% on transfer fees.
Here’s how it works:
- A sender initiates a transfer using BCRemit’s web or mobile app.
- The sender’s currency (₤, €, or $) is instantly converted into a stablecoin such as USDC or USDT—a digital asset pegged to real-world currency.
- The stablecoin travels through a secure blockchain network, reaching the Philippines in seconds.
- Once received, Coins.ph converts it back into Philippine Pesos (PHP) and credits the amount directly to the recipient’s Coins.ph wallet.
- Recipients can then withdraw or transfer the funds to their preferred e-wallet or bank account—instantly.
The result? Real-time transactions with no middlemen, lower fees, and more money going straight into Filipino pockets.
Building a Two-Way Financial Bridge
By early 2026, the two companies also plan to launch a QR-Payment Collection feature, which will enable outbound payments from the Philippines to the UK, Europe, the US, and Canada.
This innovation aims to create a full financial bridge—allowing funds to move seamlessly both ways, not just into the country.
Fully Licensed and Regulated for Safety
Both Coins.ph and BCRemit operate under full compliance with financial regulators:
- Coins.ph is licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as both a Virtual Currency Exchange (VCE) and an Electronic Money Issuer (EMI).
- BCRemit is authorized to operate as a Money Service Business.
This ensures that every transaction is secure, transparent, and compliant with all legal standards.
“This collaboration with BCRemit completely aligns with our mission to make innovative digital finance accessible to every Filipino,” said Wei Zhou, CEO of Coins.ph.
“By integrating stablecoin rails into remittances, we’re unlocking near real-time, low-cost transfers that give overseas Filipinos and their families more value, transparency, and financial freedom.”
“Millions of Filipino workers across the UK, Europe, the US, and Canada deserve a remittance solution that matches the speed and efficiency of the digital economy,” added Oliver Calma, Founder and CEO of BCRemit.
“Our partnership with Coins.ph delivers just that—and with the coming QR-Payment Collection feature, we’re building a full financial bridge that keeps more hard-earned money in Filipino hands.”
