The announcement of LG V30 becomes one of the best highlights of the IFA 2017 in Berlin, Germany. The flagship smartphone from the “V” series now has dual-cameras at the back with the brightest aperture in the history of a mobile phone. We will talk on that later on.

Starting with the beastly specs, the LG V30 utilizes a P-OLED screen on its 6.0-inch panel with Always-On display support. The secondary screen has been replaced by a Floating Bar instead. It runs on Android v7.1 “Nougat” sitting on the company’s own UX 6.0+. Perhaps, the device will be one of the first smartphone in the company to be upgraded on Android 8.0 “Oreo”.

It makes use of the flagship Snapdragon 835 chipset by Qualcomm, with 4GB RAM and 64GB of native storage that can be expanded thru a dedicated microSD slot that supports up to 256GB. In the U.S. (Sprint-exclusive, to be exact, for a while), there’s a bigger variant, the LG V30+ with larger 128GB of storage, but the specs remains the same as the original model. The LG V30+ will be available in “selected markets” only.
Now, for the best part, the camera department. The dual camera packs a primary 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.6 aperture!, while the secondary rear sports a rather bright f/1.9 aperture with 120° wide-angle sensor, making it the brightest dual camera sensors in the market today.

On a negative note, the battery now comes in a non-removable 3,300 mAh capacity, the first in the V-series as the previous models have removable battery and back cover. However, contrast to that statement, the IP68 water and dust resistance is still intact with MIL-STD-810 compliance for shock resistance. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back and remains located just below the dual cameras, which appears to be quite easy to use.

For audiophile, the Korean company hasn’t forsaken the 3.5 mm jack and once again, they collaborated with ESS (Electronic Speech Systems) Technology to provide Quad DAC with included B&O earphones out of the box.
Pricing remains unknown but LG will first release the LG V30 in South Korea on September 21, then afterwards, more areas will soon to follow: North America, other Asian countries, Africa, Middle East and European continent. The LG V30 comes in four flavored colors: Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue, and Lavender Violet.
