LG Electronics has showed us the 2016 line up of their OLED TV which is an additional category of their TV models.
LG OLED TV is not a new line up. The unique technology that powers OLED is rendering other TVs as things of the past, thanks to the ultra-vibrant, true-to-life display that will allow you to stay home forever and just watch movies and other rich media content.
[junkie-alert style=”green”] An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current. This layer of organic semiconductor is situated between two electrodes; typically, at least one of these electrodes is transparent. OLEDs are used to create digital displays in devices such as television screens, computer monitors, portable systems such as mobile phones, handheld game consoles and PDAs. A major area of research is the development of white OLED devices for use in solid-state lighting applications. [Wikipedia] [/junkie-alert]

OLED TV vs LED and LCD-based TV
Compared to the old models that use LED and LCD technology, the superior picture quality of the LG OLED easily outshines the opponent — a fact recognized by the tech media and experts in the world’s largest electronic events.
“Having our efforts and products recognized inspire us to continue working on innovations that will challenge and change the world’s tech landscape,” said Tony An, LG Philippines VP for Home Entertainment.
Among the tech events where LG OLED TV won industry awards were the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2016 and CE Week 2016.
LG OLED TV won over 15 awards including Official Best of CES Awards presented by Engadget.
At the CE Week 2016, a mid-year tech industry gathering in New York, USA, LG OLED TV was pitted against other 4K TVs in the industry. OLED was named as the undisputed 2016 King of TV.
The same TV also received the Red Dot Design Award 2016 and the iF Design Award 2016.
The VP of Home Entertainment of LG said OLED is definitely shaping the future of TV technology.
