If the selling point of the N3 is the rotating camera, the R5 proposition is that it is the thinnest smartphone today. At only 4.85mm, R5 is made of hand-polished aluminum alloy body. Oppo says with R5, you now say good bye to a heating smartphone with the special liquid-metal phase-shifting cooling elements.

R5 sports a 5.2-inch AMOLED display at 1080p and 423ppi, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.5Ghz octa-core processor. It has 2G of RAM, 32G storage and has LTE.

R5 reminds me of the iPhone 5 or a much closer look-alike is the Mi4 (BTW, I spotted a Mi4 at the Oppo event! I will share a separate blogpost). When you hold the R5 you will immediately notice that the rear camera is a protruding. It feels so thin and light with a premium casing to boast.

At the bottom you will find the micro-USB port and another mic for the noise cancelling feature of the phone.

On the left bottom side is the SIM tray.

Oppo R5 packs a 2,000mAh Li-Polymer battery and has the same mini rapid charging feature as the N3 with Oppos VOOC.
