PLDT Home wraps up ’21 on a high note

Nearly two years after the outbreak began, PLDT Home is still assisting families, providing millions of households with digital services and the strongest connections to help them thrive in the new normal.

PLDT remains the fastest fixed network in the Philippines, according to the latest Ookla Speedtest Awards for Q1-Q2 2021, confirming its unquestioned status as the country’s premier supplier of fiber connectivity. It has won the top rank for the fourth year in a row, according to Ookla, the global leader in broadband network intelligence.

As PLDT expands its installation capability to meet the growing demand for fiber connections across the country, more homes now have access to a dependable connection that supports both work-from-home and online learning. PLDT Home has already connected over 800,000 households with fiber in 2021, and is on track to achieve a million by the end of the year.

“We already have about 12 million homes passed and about 5.29 million ports, by far the biggest base for ports available. So by 2022 there will be a big push as Home figures as a major revenue driver for growth for PLDT,” said PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan.

In the years ahead, PLDT Home will continue to compete by launching more appealing and relevant Home options for the linked Smart Home. These include the new Unli Fiber Plans, which range in speed from 50Mbps to 1000Mbps for Plan 1699 and Plan 9499, as well as other Fibr Plus plans that feature Wi-Fi mesh devices to keep everyone in the house connected.

“We introduced the newest set of Fibr plans with upgraded speeds to further give every Filipino family the best digital experience,” said Butch G. Jimenez, Jr., Senior Vice President and Head of PLDT Home Business. “It’s a big part of PLDT Home’s unwavering commitment to provide Filipino families a future that they can look forward to — a future where more homes across the country can easily access the best digital services and fastest connectivity.”

PLDT’s latest announcement, on the other hand, strengthens the telco’s position as an industry pioneer, with the launch of the country’s first 10,000Mbps Home plan ( — the country’s fastest commercially available residential fiber connectivity service. PLDT Home continues to contribute to the country’s reputation in offering top-tier connectivity on par with first-world nations by keeping the digital lifestyles of more Filipino households connected.
