Smart rolls out prepaid and postpaid eSIM offers via digital delivery, sets the pace for eSIM adoption in PH

Smart Communications Inc. (Smart), the mobile services provider that introduced the first Prepaid embedded SIM (eSIM) in the Philippines in July 2023, is further advancing the widespread usage of eSIM in the country.

  • Smart now offers prepaid and postpaid eSIM options through digital delivery, making it more convenient for customers to access these offerings.
  • This means mobile users may now order their Smart Prepaid eSIM or Smart Postpaid eSIM at the Smart Online Store (https://store1.smart.com.ph/sims) and have it conveniently delivered to their email instantly.

Mobile users can now easily purchase their Smart Prepaid eSIM or Smart Postpaid eSIM from the Smart Online Store (https://store1.smart.com.ph/sims) and receive it instantly via email for added convenience.

Once they have obtained their eSIM, they must scan the individual QR code and complete the registration process after activation. This allows them to start enjoying data, call, and text services on Smart’s renowned mobile network. The Smart Online Store can be accessed easily on any mobile or web browser, eliminating downloading a separate app. Additionally, it accepts various payment options, including Maya, GCash, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, JCB, SPay, and DragonPay.

Smart: widest and most flexible eSIM options

The digital delivery option for Smart Prepaid and Smart Postpaid eSIM via the Smart Online Store is like having a fast and convenient delivery service that brings eSIMs directly to users, no matter where they are.

Users can visit the Smart Online Store, select their desired eSIM variant, and complete the purchase process with their preferred payment method. Once the transaction is confirmed, the eSIM will be delivered digitally to the user’s device, eliminating the need for physical SIM cards and enabling an instant activation process. This innovative approach saves time and effort and provides users with the widest and most flexible eSIM options available in the market.

Meanwhile, Smart will continue to cater to customers who prefer their Prepaid eSIM on printed cards by making this version available in strategic areas, including international and local airports, Smart Stores, Smart flagship stores on Lazada and Shopee, and accredited retailers. Moreover, postpaid customers may sign up for and get their eSIMs personally at Smart Stores nationwide.

Smart Prepaid eSIM Price

Smart’s Prepaid eSIM costs only P99 and comes with up to 21 GB of free data, 30 minutes of All-Net Calls, and 100 All-Net Texts. This lets users get online and contact family and friends immediately.

On the other hand, mobile users can get a Smart Postpaid eSIM starting at SIM-Only Plan 999, which includes Unlimited 5G for 12 months, Unlimited All-Net Mobile Calls and Texts, Unlimited Landline Calls, and Netflix Mobile Plan access for 12 months.

The Smart Prepaid and Smart Postpaid eSIMs are easy to use and work with the latest eSIM-capable phones from Apple, Google, Huawei, and Samsung, among other brands. Since there is no physical SIM card, eSIM users won’t have to worry if their gadget doesn’t have a SIM slot or if they lose or damage their physical SIM.

Also, the eSIM lets people have more than one line, even if their phone, like an Apple device, only has one physical SIM slot. With the eSIM, they can easily switch between two or more SIM cards or accounts on their iPhone.

With Smart’s digital delivery option, foreign tourists, returning OFWs and Balikbayans can easily order their Smart Prepaid eSIM before their trip and activate it when they arrive to enjoy data, call, and text services at much lower local rates than roaming rates.
