Unboxing and Set Up
As I mentioned, the Synology Diskstation DS918+ is very quick to set up. It took me more or less five minutes to put it together.
Just so you are informed, here is the box of the DS918+.
Currently, it retails from P31k to P37k. Villman has the best offer as of this review.
The proprietary power supply comes with the box. This is the only accessory that you should take extra care because this is a hard to find item.
This one comes in handy, it is not too long nor too short. Just the right size for a power cable. It is a standard three-prong cable.
The box comes with these accessories as well: two (2) LAN cables, screws, two sets of key and the most important reading material — the Diskstation DS918 Quick Installation Guide.
I highly recommend that you read the guide.
4-Bay: Unlimited Storage
The Diskstation DS918+ has 4 bay can store a standard HDD. In this review, I used a 4TB Seagate Ironwolf NAS drive.
A little push and pull, the bay pops out and you are now ready to install the hard drive.
There is no need for screws. There are two plastic strips that secure the drive.

Connecting the Disktation DS918+ to the Home Router
Before you power on the Disktation, connect the power supply and plug the LAN cable. Power it on and then you are now ready to configure your private cloud server.
The good thing about Synology is that you can configure the cloud storage online. You can use any PC/Mac that is already connected to your home network.
Goto http://find.synology.com/
The configuration begins when you type http://find.synology.com/ to your browser. It then finds the Diskstation DS918+ and starts to configure it.
It will take more or less 10 minutes to configure the Disktation.
Verdict
The Synology Diskstation DS918+ is highly recommended for small business owners. Setting up the NAS is very easy. Just install, configure and start uploading your files to your private cloud.
The only concern I have is the cost. It is pricey.
