Xiaomi Smart Band 10: The Fitness Sidekick That Wants to Be Your Everyday Companion

mi smartband 10 review

It was a sunny morning in an old-fashioned subdivision in Molino 4 when I first strapped on the new Xiaomi Smart Band 10. The neighborhood was waking up — joggers in the park, cyclists on the road, and the ever-reliable taho vendor making his rounds. And there we were, coffee in one hand, a sleek new fitness tracker on the wrist, ready to find out if Xiaomi’s latest wearable could keep up with our daily grind.

We’ve seen Xiaomi do this dance before — year after year, refining the basics, making subtle tweaks, yet resisting the big leap everyone’s been asking for. But this time, it felt different. Maybe it was the curved, brighter display catching the morning light, or perhaps it was just that early adopter excitement. Either way, we knew this was going to be an enjoyable ride.

A Familiar Look, a Fresh Shine

The Smart Band 10 doesn’t scream for attention — it’s minimalist, light, and comfortable.

If you’ve owned the Band 8 or 9, you’ll feel right at home.

The strap mechanism is the same, so your old bands still work. But here’s the thing — the Ceramic Edition, priced at Php 2,999 during the Early Bird Promo (June 27–July 3), turns heads. It’s heavier, sure, but has that “premium accessory” vibe that pairs well with formal or casual wear.

Our review unit was the standard version at Php 2,499.

Even without the ceramic flair, the display was the star of the show — larger, more colorful, and curved. Indoors, it’s gorgeous. Outdoors at high noon, that max brightness and auto-adjust combo kept everything perfectly readable. The only catch? It’s a bit scratch-prone, so be careful tossing it in your bag with keys.

Your Pocket-Sized Wellness Coach

We started testing its health tracking features right away.

The Band 10 offers continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO₂ tracking, stress monitoring, and significantly improved sleep insights compared to its predecessor.

But let’s be honest — if you’re the type who cross-checks every metric with a Whoop or Oura Ring, you’ll still spot the gaps.

This is a tracker for casual health-conscious users, not hardcore biohackers.

The heart rate tracking is excellent for daily life and workouts, but remember, it conserves battery by sampling every few minutes unless you adjust it.

After a week of use, it started giving us more personalized wellness insights.

That’s where it wins — the longer you wear it, the smarter it feels.

From Morning Runs to Gym Nights

Over 150 workout modes — yes, you read that right. We tested running, cycling, and HIIT, and even dabbled in some obscure modes just for fun (we’re looking at you, “jump rope” and “indoor rowing”).

The Band 10 doesn’t have built-in GPS, but it effectively uses your phone’s GPS.

Xiaomi even added running courses, though without a speaker, you’ll be glancing at your wrist for cues.

For the average weekend warrior, this is more than enough. For marathoners? You might still prefer a dedicated sports watch.

Battery Life That Doesn’t Quit

Xiaomi claims up to 9 days with always-on display (we got 8 with regular walks in the neighborhood) and 2–3 weeks with it off. That’s impressive given the brighter, larger display. Charging is quick, and the minimal packaging — just the tracker and cable — is classic Xiaomi efficiency.

Smart, But Not Too Smart

Running on HyperOS, the interface is smooth, snappy, and customizable. Widgets can be rearranged, animations feel premium, and there’s a massive watch face library to match your mood.

Notifications now support emojis, but you still can’t reply.

There’s no NFC for payments, no built-in GPS, no altimeter, and no voice assistant.

We did get an electronic compass, which was handy during a quick hike in Rizal, but otherwise, the smart features remain basic.

Final Verdict: Incremental, but Irresistible

The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 is a classic Xiaomi move — incremental upgrades, but the kind that make everyday use smoother and more enjoyable. The display is the hero, the battery life is still class-leading, and the UI feels more polished than ever.

At Php 2,499 (or Php 2,999 for the Ceramic Edition), it’s still the best budget fitness tracker you can buy in the Philippines right now. If you own a Band 8 or 9, the upgrade depends on how much you value the screen.

If you’re coming from anything older — or you’re buying your first fitness tracker — this one’s a no-brainer.

For us? The Band 10 didn’t just track our runs, heart rate, or sleep — it quietly became a part of our daily rhythm. And that’s the mark of a gadget worth keeping.
