Chery Mobile Cosmos One Plus Review

Cherry Mobile One Plus is now at our HQ with the price tag of P13,990. 

In the local scene, it is being compared to StarMobile’s Knight X (see specs here). CM One Plus has a massive screen of 5.5-Inch Full HD LTPS Display  with 1080 x 1920 Pixels and 401ppi. It is powered by  a MediaTek MT6595M Chipset, a 2.0 GHz Quad Core Cortex-A17 and 1.5 GHz Quad Core Cortex-A7 CPU, 3 Gigabytes of RAM, 32Gigabytes of internal storage and if you need more, you can add up 64G of external storage via micro SD.

CM One Plus installed 14 MP AF rear camera with Sony IMX 214 Sensor, BSI and LED Flash while your favorite selfie camera in front has 8MP.

What’s in the box

The usual items are inside the box  — users manual, warranty card, wall charger, microUSB cable, headset. The CM One Plus however have included a flip cover as “freebie”, I supposed because it is included in the box.  CM Cosmos One Plus has a removable battery with 2700mAH.

Look how clear the camera is.

With the flip cover for total protection, that comes as freebie with the purchase of CM Cosmos One Plus.

At the bottom of the smartphone, you will find the micro USB port and beside it is them microphone. Holding it facing you, the right side has two same size buttons — one is the power button and another is for a dedicated shutter button. If you do a long press, it will take 40 rapid shots of photos.

On the left side is the volume rocker while on top is the 3.5mm audio port and a noise canceling microphone on the far left.

Benchmarks

Of course, we tested it immediately so that you can compare it with the current models available in the market today. Here are the Antutu and Nenamark benchmark results.

It has one of the highest scores we ever tested! Look! Antutu’s score is 45,400! Some will scream already and say “Take my money!”

We can’t finish this short article without giving you sample images taken by the Cherry Mobile Cosmos One Plus.

Using the automatic settings of the camera, here’s one sample photos taken a while ago.

Here is another one. I only changed the settings from 14:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio so that I can take wide photos.

There are more sample photos and a video clip in our photo blog. Check out HDR, close up shot on a well-lighted environment, and a close-up shot on a dim or low light setup.

The camera takes photos very fast, the autofocus is also fast but sometimes inaccurate. Photos are very clear and sharp, and it is not over exposed.
