Bayan has teamed up with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and various local government units (LGUs) and revealed that its successful campaign has resulted in the filing of over a dozen criminal cases and the conviction of six (6) cable thieves in Metro Manila for the first quarter of 2014 alone. This is in addition to the 69 convictions it has achieved nationwide for the period 2010 to 2013.

The campaign of Bayan Telecommunications is to ensure the customers that their service and will be up and running and service disruption is minimal. This is true to subscribers who rely on their telephone and data lines for business and livelihood. Cable disruptions also deprive customers of the use of their landlines especially during emergency, such as when customers need to call the police, fire department or the hospital.

According to Bayan, aside from the 16 other suspects that have been arrested, they are expecting more arrest in the coming weeks.

Bayan is closely coordinating with the PNP and the different partner LGUs to identify and arrest cable thieves in its key service areas in Metro Manila, Bicol, Eastern Visayas and in Mindanao.
