DJI Makes Everyday Life Recording Fun and Even Easier with New Palm-Sized Drone for Vlogs

DJI, the world leader in consumer drones and cutting-edge camera technology, today unveiled the DJI Neo, the company’s lightest and most compact drone to date, weighing just 135g.

Without a remote control, the drone can be operated completely.

It can be launched and landed on the palm. It has AI subject tracking, QuickShots, and the ability to record 4K ultra-stabilized video for up to 18 minutes.

Full-coverage propeller guards provide the safest flying experience possible for users when they are having fun with friends or capturing their daily adventures, whether they are flying indoors or outside.

Into the Air at the Press of a Button

Neo does not need a remote control because all you have to do is press the mode button on the drone and choose the shooting style you want. The drone will return to the user’s palm after taking 12MP photos with its 1/2-inch image sensor or 4K UHD movies without any stabilization thanks to DJI’s advanced stabilization algorithms.

Tell Your Story with AI Subject Tracking

Neo has made AI programs that can follow the subject in the frame. It is easy to make interesting follow shots whether you are biking, skateboarding, or camping. You can be even more creative with Neo’s QuickShots, which has six intelligent shooting modes1 that let you record from a variety of settings.

– Dronie: The drone flies backward and ascends, with the camera locked on the subject, and records a video.

– Circle: The drone circles around the subject.

– Rocket: The drone ascends with the camera pointing downward.

– Spotlight: The drone rotates while keeping the object of interest within the frame

– Helix: The drone ascends and spirals around the subject.

– Boomerang: The drone flies around the subject in an oval path, ascending as it flies away from its starting point and descending as it flies back. The aircraft’s starting point forms one end of the oval’s long axis, while the other end is at the subject’s opposite side from the starting point.

Control it Your Way

The DJI Neo is intended to be flown and controlled without an extra remote. However, it can be connected to the DJI Fly app, remote controllers, RC Motion, DJI Goggles, and even voice controlled1 for better flight and camera control.

Neo can be handled with virtual joysticks on the DJI Fly app interface on smartphones via Wi-Fi, giving users a control range of up to 50 meters1. You can also set the tracking angle and distance with this app, which gives you more options for shooting from far away or close up.

When paired with the DJI RC-N3, the DJI Neo can send video up to 10 kilometers away1 and lets you use standard RC control sticks to move the camera around and take professional-quality pictures.

To get the most out of your drone experience, you can pair DJI Neo with DJI Goggles 3, RC Motion 3, or FPV Remote Controller 3. With the RC Motion 3, DJI Neo can do aerobatics with just one press, navigate inside without any problems, and easily get through small areas.

Stabilization as Standard

When it comes to flying, the DJI Neo has a single-axis mechanical gimbal that can handle high speeds, trips with lots of turns, and winds up to Level 4. When used with RockSteady or HorizonBalancing stabilization, total image shake is greatly reduced, and horizon tilt is fixed within ±45°1. This results in footage that is smooth and stable, with clear details in both bright and dark areas.

DJI Neo can stay stable in the air even in wind conditions up to Level 4 thanks to an infrared and monocular vision tracking system. It also allows automatic Return to Home (RTH), which makes it easy to use without any problems.

Easy Content Capture for Everyday Use

Neo can store up to 40 minutes of 4K video at 30 frames per second or 55 minutes of 1080p video at 60 frames per second. Once the video is saved, it does not need any extra data cables to be transferred; just connecting a phone via Wi-Fi will quickly send it to the DJI Fly app, which makes it easy to edit and share.

Neo can also easily record sound by connecting to a smartphone. If you tap the voice record button on the DJI Fly app, the built-in microphone on your phone will start to record. If you want better sound quality, you can connect the DJI Mic 2 to your phone via Bluetooth. The app gets rid of propeller noise and combines the audio track with the video automatically, so even when taking vlogs from a low angle, the sound is clear.
The DJI Fly app has a huge library of templates, sound effects, and image effects that can be used to change quickly and easily. You can easily make and share movies without having to download the footage to edit it, which saves phone storage space.

A Type-C data cable can be used to connect the plane straight to a power source for easy charging. The DJI Neo’s Two-Way Charging Hub can also charge three batteries at the same time1, which speeds up the charging process and saves energy.

Price and Availability

The DJI Neo will be available from September 5 at all DJI authorized retail shops and DJI Experience shops in key locations such as SM Aura, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, SM Seaside Cebu, SM Palawan, One Ayala, and (coming soon) Abreeza Davao.

You can also buy it online at Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.

In the Philippines, the Fly More Combo costs Php 18,999.00 and the single costs Php 10,799.00.
