This proves that you do not really have to spend a lot of money to take photos or videos for documentations. Specially when you need photos for your social media content only; smartphones, even feature phones with at least 3MP camera can now do the job.
A sample photo taken by iPhone 5 is a quality photo. Here is a sample picture taken in Baguio City at the Diplomat Hotel.

So, do you really need expensive cameras to take photos? Certainly not. You just need to maximize and familiarize yourself with your smartphone and pretty much you will document awesome photos out of it.

Given that you have the skill to take pictures during the event, when it comes to output, especially for print, I’d still go for DSLR =P
I know its very convenient to use smartphones to take pictures. But can it have the same print like a DSLR does? =P
Thank you guys for your kind comments. It was a unique angle of capturing people who are ilkewise documenting events. 😉
Wow. You managed to cover a unique angle of the event. Documenting the documenters. Great job! 😀
I loved how you documented and spotted the different forms of capturing pictures nowadays. I used to think that taking Hi-Res photos can only come from owning a DSLR. But after shifting into a P&S, I now enjoy the same features. I also get to do the same thing with my smartphone.
Ah, My wife’s iPad mini comes in handy each time special occasions come around. But I prefer digital cam. Mas class.
It is so much easier to capture the right moment nowadays with the help of camera phones, digicams, and other portable cameras. You no longer need to be a professional photographer to capture the perfect moment.
Now , I learn to use my smartphone to capture photos for online content since the DSLR are bulky and sometimes it grabs the attention of unwanted people.

– 100% agree with this! You can document memories and events using your Smartphones. 🙂
i love the pictures of different reactions of people as well with their gadgets / cameras while watching Panagbenga Festival. It tells a story about the Pinoys in our society.
The mobile gadgets has replaced the digital camera because of convenience.
