Pay HK $68 and get Unli 3G, unli local and IDD calls while in HongKong

Are you willing to rent a smartphone for HKD 68 or about P360 per day and get unlimited access to mobile internet, unli local and IDD calls while in Hong Kong? There is a company called Handy Hong Kong that offers this service.

They rent out a smartphone to tourists in HK, available smartphone is a Galaxy Note and Google Nexus only. Pre-loaded apps include Skype, Facebook, BBC News, CNN News but you can install your own apps while you are renting the phone.

You also get a spare battery, a USB cable link, and a charger of the phone you rented. Payment is via Credit Card and you need to do a registration process with Handy Hong Kong.

While in HongKong, you can call 17 countries for free, that eliminates your cost for your data roaming service from your telco. There is only one bad news, the Philippines is not included in the list of countries where you can make free calls.

Free calls applies only to countries like Australia, Canada, mainland China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and USA.

Do take note that SMS service is disabled in your rented phone, this is because the bundle for the service includes voice calls only and SMS service entails additional cost to the operator. Installing Viber or Whats App app will solve this problem though.

You can get the Handy phone upon arrival in HongKong International Airport.

The service is also available in Singapore. Price is SGD 15 per day.
