Design and build
The price point is our basis. That’s only P10,990, right?
In today’s marketplace for smartphones, the Honor X8a is one of the most visually appealing phones under this price range.
On the back of the Honor X8a, there are four circles that stick out. These circles are where the four cameras are located.
Even though the Honor X8a is mostly made of high-end plastic, it looks very high-end. The back has a matte finish that makes it hard for fingerprints and smudges to stick to it.
The Honor X8a is light and easy to hold at 179 grams. It also gives you a good grip so you won’t drop it accidentally in challenging situations like when you are lying down.
Display
You’ll love consuming video content on this phone. Tiktok, Reels, Short or even the traditional Youtube videos are so much enjoyable to watch on Honor X8A.
Let’s give it credit for its 6.7-inch FullView screen with a 93.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. It has thin corners, and the only part that stands out is the chin.
The screen’s brightness struggles if you’re outdoor and the sun is up. Of course, you will not be outdoors most of the time.
Performance
The specs of the Honor X8a in conjunction with its price tag is justifiable.
The Honor X8a is powered by Mediatek’s Helio G88 chipset. It is not the best in the market, but the smartphone can still do more than one thing at once. The phone shows a little slow down when simultanous apps are running all at the same time.
But if you know how to optimize things, you’ll be good. Up to three (3) apps running would be just fine.
The Honor X8a still comes with Android 12 and Magic UI 6.1 out of the box. There is no issue here becasue any update that comes in later would be easy.
Honor’s Magic UI 6.1 makes it easier and smoother to use the Honor X8a as a whole.
Camera
The Honor X8a’s main camera has a resolution of 100MP. You can crop an image to remove a specific area without sacrificing the image’s quality.
Similar to other devices that cost the same as the Honor X8a, night photography is challenging to capture. The images appear foggy, and some of the details appear blurry.
Here are a few samples.
Battery
If I had to pick one thing I like about Honor phones, it would be the battery and charger that come with them. The Honor X8a also did well when it came to the battery. It didn’t need to be charged until after more than a day of moderate to heavy use. It had a 4,500mAh battery. This is a great achievement that makes the Honor X8a an even better phone to use every day.
Also, this device can be charged quickly with the Honor 22.5W SuperCharge Charger. After 30 minutes plugged in, the battery will be charged to about 50%.
Conclusion
The Honor X8a gave me a decent performance, a good camera for social media postings, and a good battery life.
