As scheduled, Huawei unveils the Honor 9. It is the successor of last year’s Honor 8 that gains popularity in the People’s Republic due to its impressive back design and the dual-camera configuration.
In terms of display, the Honor 9 comes with a 5.15-inch IPS LCD panel with curved glass on both sides at the back. The fingerprint sensor is implanted at the home button, below the front display.
The main highlight of the phone is the dual-camera configuration at the back, the 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel sensors, with phase detection auto-focus for faster response in capturing an image. The front camera, on the other side, carries an 8-megapixel one. There are three memory configurations: 64GB ROM + 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM + 6GB RAM and 128GB + 6GB RAM. It powers HiSilicon Kirin 960, boasts at 2.4Ghz, same as the flagship Mate 9 and P10.
For audiophile, the handset sports a Hi-Fi audio chip for immersive sound quality experience. The company’s also not ditched the 3.5 mm jack. There’s a lot of speculation before that the company will remove the headphone jack.
